If you use Facebook and don't want anyone to see your birthday and receive notifications about it, you can make some changes to your profile and hide both your birthday and your year of birth. See below how you can do this on the Facebook website and mobile app .

How to hide your birthday on the desktop version of Facebook?
- If you're using a Windows, Mac, Linux, or Chromebook computer , open a web browser and then visit the Facebook site . Log in to your account if you're not already logged in.
- After logging in , in the top right corner of Facebook, click on icon your profile and select your profile name . You will be taken to your profile page .
- Then, on profile , find the tabs under name (Posts, About, Friends , etc.). Click on the “About” tab.
- In the “Information” tab, select the “Contact and basic information” option.
- In the right pane, scroll down to the “ Basic Information ” section . Here, you can hide your date of birth from other users by selecting the gear icon next to your birthday.
In the “ Select Audience ” window , choose who can see your date of birth. To hide it from everyone, select “ Only me .”
To hide your birth year, next to your birth year , click the gear icon . Then, choose who can see this information .

How to hide your birthday on the mobile app ?
- If you're using an iPhone, iPad, or Android device, open the Facebook app on your phone .
- In the top right corner of the Facebook app, tap your profile icon .
- Select your name at the top.
- On the profile page , click “ View Your Information ”.
- Scroll down the page to the “Basic Information” section, then tap “Edit.”
- On the “ Edit Profile ” screen, in the “ Birthdays ” section , tap the gear icon next to “ Birthdays .”
- Choose who can see your birthday . To hide it from everyone, select More options > Only me.
- Similarly, to hide your birth year, tap the gear icon next to “ Birth year .” Then, select “ Only me ” or another option .
