How we research, verify, and publish every cybersecurity and technology news story

Our principles

For over a decade, SecNews has been informing the Greek public about information systems security, cyber threats, online fraud and technology developments. Our goal is for every reader, from the average user to the IT professional, to understand what is happening, what it means for them and how they can protect themselves.

Each publication is based on official announcements from manufacturers, organizations and authorities, published safety research and reliable international media. We cite our sources, separate confirmed facts from allegations and return to the issues when new data emerges.

How we work

ACCURACY

We check product names, versions, vulnerability codes (CVE), and numbers before each publication.

SOURCES

We rely on primary sources: manufacturers, CERT teams, authorities, and security researchers.

JUNCTION

We cross-check the information and clearly highlight what has not yet been confirmed.

INDEPENDENCE

As an independent media outlet, we select topics and their coverage based on the interest of our readers.

CORRECTIONS

When an error is detected, we correct it immediately and update the article.

UPDATES

We are monitoring developments and updating the topics when corrections or new information is released.

RESPONSIBLE PUBLICATION

We do not publish operational malicious code or instructions that facilitate attacks.

PRIVACY

We respect victims of breaches and do not republish leaked personal data.

PRACTICAL PROTECTION

For each threat, we explain who it concerns and what the reader can do to protect themselves.

WHISTLEBLOWING

We accept complaints and information, and protect the identity of those who trust us.
