Gears of War: E-Day is now very close to its official release for all players, with those who have chosen the Premium Edition already having access to the new chapter of the popular series. For the general public, the wait ends on October 6, when the game will be available in its standard version, as well as through Xbox Game Pass.
The Coalition 's new production attempts to return to the roots of the franchise, while utilizing modern technology and a significantly revamped multiplayer . One of the questions that most concerns players before release is, of course, the length of the Campaign.
One of the largest Campaigns in the series
Based on the information so far and the experience from the Unboxholics review, Gears of War: E-Day offers a particularly satisfying single-player adventure. The Campaign duration is estimated at approximately 10 to 14 hours, depending on how each player approaches the content.

The game maintains the structure that fans of the series are familiar with, dividing the story into Acts, which in turn include individual Chapters. This specific structure allows The Coalition to build the narrative in discrete chapters, without abandoning the cinematic character that is a key element of the series.
However, the duration is not limited to simply completing the main missions. Exploration, collectibles, and side content can add several additional hours to the total playtime.
14 hours to complete with a significant portion of the content
Themis Boltsis' experience from the Unboxholics review is particularly interesting, as it took him approximately 14 hours to reach the end credits.
This particular achievement was achieved on Normal difficulty, with almost 80% of the side content completed, as well as a fair amount of exploration in the game world. At the same time, around 100 of the 140 collectibles, which shows that the 14 hours are not about a simple playthrough limited to the absolutely necessary missions.
For players who want to explore every corner, complete all of the optional content, and collect all of the available items, the duration can increase significantly. On higher difficulty levels, in fact, a full playthrough can approach or even exceed 20 hours.
This makes E-Day one of the longest-running single-player offerings the franchise has offered to date.

Gears of War: E-Day – Multiplayer takes on a new dimension
Beyond the Campaign, The Coalition has also invested significantly in the multiplayer aspect. Gears of War: E-Day comes with revamped multiplayer experiences, including Versus modes and the new Horde Siege.
The latter is one of the most important additions to the new title and essentially evolves the familiar formula of wave-based survival gameplay. The big difference is the scale, as Horde Siege can participate in up to 12 players at once.
Two squads, different missions and a final showdown
Horde Siege moves the action to new maps located in the city of Kalona, creating a different setting for multiplayer battles.
Players are divided into squads, with each team taking on their own mission within the same map. This adds an extra layer of strategy to the familiar Horde logic, as success doesn't solely depend on neutralizing enemy waves.
Things get even more interesting towards the end of the match. After teams complete their objectives, they face off against each other before extraction, turning the final phase into a battle where cooperation can give way to competition.

A Gears with longer duration and more options
Gears of War: E-Day seems to be following a dual strategy. On the one hand, it offers a larger Campaign that can reward exploration and completionist gameplay. On the other hand, it attempts to give greater depth to the multiplayer experience with modes like Horde Siege.
With a release date of October 6th and availability through Xbox Game Pass, the new Gears has a particularly large audience from day one, where it is called upon to prove that it can combine the classic identity of the series with new ideas. For those interested primarily in the Campaign, 10 to 14 hours is already a fairly full experience, while the full content and multiplayer can significantly extend the overall duration.
