Did you know that there is a way to turn off the ability to send you friend suggestions on Facebook?
If you use the Facebook website on a desktop computer with Windows 10 or macOS, you can turn off friend suggestions in your account settings. To do this, open the Facebook website and log in to your account

Once you're logged in, click the menu icon, with the downward-pointing arrow, in the top-right corner. From the drop-down menu, select Settings & Privacy > Settings.
In the Facebook Settings menu for your account, click “Notifications” on the left.
Select “People you may know” in the “Notification Settings” menu.
Facebook prompts you for friends in a variety of ways. If you want to stop specific friend suggestions (but don't mind in-app suggestions), click the slider next to the various options listed (including push notifications, email, and SMS).

If you want to stop all friend requests on Facebook, select the slider next to “Allow Facebook notifications.” This will stop all notifications.
With this setting turned off, Facebook will no longer suggest other user accounts for you to add as friends on the Facebook website or the Facebook mobile app. If you want to add friends on Facebook, you'll have to search for them and add them manually.
If you prefer to use Facebook on Android, iPhone, or iPad, you can change your account settings to turn off friend suggestions in the app itself.

To get started, open the Facebook app on your smartphone or tablet and log in (if you haven't already). Tap the menu icon in the top right corner, which is located below the Facebook Messenger icon.
In the menu, scroll to the bottom, then tap Settings & Privacy > Settings.
Go to the “Settings” menu and tap the “Notification settings” option.
In the “Notification Settings” menu, tap the “People You May Know” option.
You can turn off individual friend suggestion notifications via push, email, or SMS by tapping next to each option.
If you want to disable all friend suggestions on Facebook, tap the “Allow Facebook notifications” slider.
You will need to confirm that you want to stop all friend request notifications. Tap “Turn Off” to confirm. The slider will turn gray when the setting is turned off, stopping all friend requests on your account.
