Despite the fact that the release will take place in many months, many rumors have already been circulating about the iPhone 13. As we get closer to the release, new rumors point to new changes in design and features.
According to leaker Max Weinbach, the iPhone 13 will come with a matte black option for the Pro and Pro Max models, a new stainless steel coating that reduces smudges and fingerprints, a new rear camera design, and improved noise cancellation on phone calls.

Last month, Weinbach reported that Apple plans to include an always-on display on this year's new iPhone as part of its design. Now building on that rumor, he says that in addition to a 120Hz always-on display, Apple is likely to include a matte black option on the "iPhone 13" Pro and "iPhone 13" Pro Max.
Weinbach says the color is a “redesigned graphite” but is “borderline black.” Apple is also reportedly experimenting with an orange, almost bronze color for the new iPhones, but he says it’s unlikely to be released.

The iPhone 12 series returned with the beloved flat design, as well as stainless steel edges for the 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max. Since the models were released, users have complained about the edges’ ability to attract smudges and fingerprints — especially on light-colored options like Gold. Apple is looking to address the issue with the “iPhone 13” by adopting a new anti-smudge and anti-fingerprint coating, Weinbach says.
Weinbach goes on to say that the new camera module won't be completely flat, but that each lens will protrude less from the main body, and the thickness of the camera system will also be reduced.

Along with a number of previously rumored features, the “iPhone 13” Pro and 13 Pro Max camera system will include a new process for taking portrait photos. Weinbach says that the portrait mode on the new Pro iPhones will rely heavily on LiDAR. LiDAR, currently on the iPhone 12 Pro, Pro Max, and iPad Pro, is used for improved low-light photos.
Weinbach says that within iOS itself, Apple will also include a new “image stabilization correction” feature that will automatically detect and keep the focus steady during a video. Weinbach says that the battery itself will be larger, and that the longer battery life will be further improved thanks to the efficiency of the A15 chip.
