Asus has already released several Zenfone smartphones this year, likely due to the series' success. However, next year it will likely debut yet another Zenfone smartphone.
With the Zenfone 3 Zoom, Asus plans to adopt two new technologies that are usually exclusive to high-end smartphones, such as a dual-camera setup and large batteries.
The images published on TENAA confirm that the Zenfone 3 Zoom will come with a dual-camera setup on the back. The listing also mentions that the smartphone will feature a dual-lens rear camera with dual-LED flash and laser focus, as well as a secondary 13-megapixel camera on the front.
On top of that, the Zenf0ne 3 Zoom will be powered by a 4,850 mAh battery, even if it doesn't come with a Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display. Instead, Asus has decided to ship it with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.
The high-end Asus smartphone is likely to come with a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon , although the model is not mentioned.
We know that there will be multiple Zenfone 3 Zoom variants coming to the market, based on memory capacity: 2GB, 3GB, and 4GB of RAM, as well as 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB of internal storage. All models will include a microSD card slot.
The bad news is that the smartphone will come with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system, but hopefully Asus will have enough time to add Android 7.0 Nougat by the time the phone is released on the market.
The Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom is expected to be officially announced early next year at CES 2017, but we don't yet know when it will hit shelves.
