Razer is expanding its range of professional gaming peripherals with the Razer Wolverine V4 Pro , a new premium controller designed for gamers who seek high precision, fast response and extensive customization options . The new model is aimed at both PC users and Xbox Series X|S owners , with the company primarily targeting demanding and competitive games .
The Wolverine V4 Pro is already open for pre-orders via Razer's official website, with its price starting at 209.99 euros. Its official release is scheduled for October 26, placing it in the category of the most expensive controllers on the market.
In the spotlight is the fight against stick drift
One of the main issues Razer is trying to address is the notorious stick drift, a phenomenon in which the analog sticks register movement even when the player is not touching them. The problem can significantly affect the gaming experience, especially in titles that require subtle and perfectly controlled movements.

The company equips the Wolverine V4 Pro with high-precision sensors, which are designed to offer stable movement tracking and greater resistance to unwanted deviations. This approach is especially important in competitive games, where even a small wrong move can affect the outcome of a match.
Four back buttons and customization options
Razer doesn't just limit itself to stick technology, but places a strong emphasis on player control . The Wolverine V4 Pro features four detachable rear buttons that can be used to perform additional commands without the user having to take their thumbs off the analog sticks.
The rear buttons are designed with a mouse-like click mechanism, offering quick actuation. Meanwhile, there are two additional bumpers that can be used for macro commands, further increasing customization options.
This level of customization can be particularly useful in FPS games, where speed of access to different commands is a significant advantage. Similarly, in racing games it can allow functions to be assigned without interrupting vehicle control.

Polling rate up to 8,000Hz and extremely low latency
In terms of responsiveness, the Wolverine V4 Pro significantly raises the bar, at least on paper. Razer claims latency below 2 ms, while on PC the polling rate can reach up to 8,000Hz.
Such a high polling rate means that the controller can communicate with the computer very frequently, allowing for faster updates of the player's position and commands. In practice, the difference won't be equally noticeable in every game or for every user, but in competitive environments where responsiveness is of the essence, such technologies can be part of an overall more immediate experience.
Wireless connection and Steam
The new controller also supports Razer HyperSpeed Wireless technology , offering wireless connectivity for PC gaming, including use with Steam . This means users can enjoy the freedom of a wireless controller without sacrificing the device’s competitive gaming focus.
Compatibility with Xbox Series X|S also broadens the audience for Wolverine V4 Pro, while the emphasis on customization allows players to adapt its layout and functions to their own needs.

A controller for demanding gamers
With a starting price of 209.99 euros, the Razer Wolverine V4 Pro does not attempt to compete with the budget controllers on the market. Instead, it is clearly positioned in the premium category and aimed at gamers who are willing to invest more in equipment with advanced features.
Razer's main bet is to combine the accuracy of the new sensors, high communication speed and many customization options in a single controller. If the company's promises are confirmed in practice, the Wolverine V4 Pro could be an interesting choice for those who see gaming not just as entertainment, but as a competitive activity where every move counts.
