YouTube is experimenting with multiplayer mini-games, which will be introduced into the platform's collection of lightweight, free games called "Playables." For now, the two games that support multiplayer are Ludo Club and Magic Tiles 3.

"We're starting to test a new multiplayer feature for a select few games on YouTube Playables. Multiplayer on Playables lets you play games in real-time with other users," the Google-owned company said.

YouTube has been testing Playables mini-games on its app and website for about a year. However, it opened up the free game catalog to all users in May. Initially, only premium users had access to it.
Over that time, YouTube has steadily grown its Playables portfolio. Currently, there are more than 130 games in categories like Action, Arcade Brain & Puzzle, Trivia & Word, Racing, Simulation, and Sports.

It is worth noting that more and more platforms are also integrating gaming into their services, in an effort to attract a larger audience.
