The new tablets come in two sizes, offering lightweight aluminum designs and powerful 8-core processors. The smaller model, the 8.7-inch Kids Tablet, starts at $229.99 and features 64GB of storage, while its battery can last up to 14 hours of video playback. The larger model, the 11-inch Amazon Kids Tablet, starts at $329.99 and offers a better 2.5K display, 8GB of RAM for improved gaming experiences, and stylus support.

Both models will be available for pre-order soon, with shipments starting on October 14 in the United States.

One of the main features of the Amazon Kids Tablets is a one-year subscription to Amazon Kids Plus, which includes a large collection of ad-free content. This collection includes books, TV shows, games, apps, and audiobooks from well-known companies like Disney, Nickelodeon, and Lego. In addition, Amazon is introducing a new feature in Kids Plus, Storybuilder, which uses artificial intelligence to create picture books and comics.

Children can provide descriptions of characters, worlds, and plot twists, and Storybuilder creates the content based on that information.

Amazon’s Parent Dashboard, which comes pre-installed on the new Kids Tablets, allows parents to set screen time limits, monitor usage, and set learning goals that prioritize educational apps and games over entertainment. All settings in the Parent Dashboard can be accessed remotely via iOS and Android apps, allowing parents to approve every download from the Google Play Store.

Amazon has also equipped the Kids Tablets with two different styles of colorful cases, featuring characters from Paw Patrol, Barbie, and SpongeBob. These cases are designed to offer protection and style, with a thicker, protective option for preschoolers and a thinner one for kids ages six and up.

The launch of Amazon Kids Tablets represents a strategic move by Amazon to strengthen its presence in the children’s technology market. With the growing demand for safe and educational technology solutions for children, Amazon offers a complete solution that combines entertainment with education, while providing parents with the tools they need to manage their children’s digital lives.

The integration of parental controls and curated content into Amazon Kids Tablets reflects the growing concern among parents about their children’s safety in the digital world. By providing tools that allow parents to control content and usage, Amazon offers a solution that meets the needs of modern families.
