The Washington Tracking Network (WTN) has revealed that there are occasional incidents of fraud on websites related to banks or other financial institutions. Anyone can be a victim of these types of fraud . If someone uses Google search to get any information, they should be especially careful and not neglect some basic protection, as even a seemingly insignificant mistake can create critical problems.
It has been found that many times when searching on Google, users receive incorrect information and, for this reason, it is very likely that they will fall victim to bank fraud or hacking. For this reason, they must take the necessary precautions to avoid such an unpleasant experience.
First of all, if someone searches for a bank or any financial website on Google, it would be a good idea to stop doing so as they may be presented with a fake website many times. Once they click on the link of a fake website, they are taken directly to where the website wants to direct them. Also, if in some cases someone has not paid attention to the URL and other red flags, then they may have unknowingly fallen victim to bank fraud. Their personal information related to the bank can be transferred to fake websites, giving hackers the opportunity to hack their bank account and make transactions in their name, without their knowledge. So, every time a user opens the website of a bank or financial company , they must type the URL of the website directly to open its website. When the website is open, the first name of the website must have a padlock and “https” must be written. If the padlock and “https” are not written in the URL, then suspicions should be raised that the website opened on the screen is fake and, therefore, the user should not make any transactions on it.
Often, users use Google search in an attempt to find the customer service number of a business or store. In fact, they search for the customer service number of a business or store on Google to get information or express their complaints, but this can create serious problems for them. Specifically, scammers feed the wrong customer service number in the name of a company or store on Google, and when users use these numbers, the scammers exploit and “trick” them.
Therefore, users should never search for the customer service number of any company or store on Google. Instead, they should find the information they want on the company or store's website. On the contrary, downloading an app after searching on Google and clicking on the link found in the search can cause problems for them as the link found on Google is not necessarily linked to the corresponding app. Many times hackers create fake links through which they can put viruses on smartphones . In such a case, users should download an app on their smartphones from the Google Play Store or the App Store.
Also, they should never make the mistake of searching Google for any medicine and any disease because the information they get on Google search regarding the treatment of a disease may not be correct. Therefore, taking medicine can be fatal. They should visit a doctor who will prescribe them the right medicine.
