Mixed Reality Viewer: Windows 10 has a built-in app called View 3D. The app allows viewing 3D models, and is included in the Windows 10 Creators Update (1703).
However, it appears that those registered in the Fast Ring have a new version of the application, which has been renamed Mixed Reality Viewer.
The Mixed Reality Viewer is expected to be released to the public alongside the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update in October.
Currently available only to Insiders who have Skip Ahead enabled. The updated app version is 2.1708.30142.0. Mixed Reality Viewer comes with a custom UI and has the following key changes:
- New name – View 3D became Mixed Reality Viewer.
- New loading animation – a small 3D cube will appear while the app and content are loading.
- New logo with a 3D cube
- All controls have been placed at the top of the app (information, controls, virtual camera, and full-screen view) for a cleaner look.
- When taking mixed reality photos, you'll notice that the "All in Camera" and "Timer" icons have been placed on the bottom left.
- The timer is working properly
- If you reduce the window size, the controls will automatically be grouped under “Other with 3D”
- Fixes and general improvements
