Snapchat is changing the way creators and influencers make money on the platform, introducing a new, unified monetization program. The changes relate to content published in Stories and Spotlight. Under the revamped monetization program, influencers earn revenue for ads placed on eligible Stories and Spotlight posts.

Previously, revenue generation was done separately for the two types of posts.

The new unified program is now being tested by a small group of users and will be widely released on February 1, 2025. To participate, creators and influencers must meet certain requirements: 50,000 followers and 10 million Snap views or 1 million Spotlight views or 12,000 hours of watch time in the last 28 days.
They must also post content consistently on the platform. This means at least 25 times a month in saved Stories or Spotlight, and posting to Spotlight or public Stories at least 10 times in the last 28 days.

It’s clear that the new requirements for Snapchat’s unified monetization program are stricter. However, a unified payment program is definitely more convenient.
