Steve Wozniak: an iPhone without a headphone jack will disappoint

Steve Wozniak won't be buying new headphones just for the new iPhone 7. The Apple co-founder told the Australian Financial Review yesterday that he personally will continue to use the headphones he already owns.

“Mine have special ear implants that fit so snugly that I can sleep in them,” he said in the interview. “And they only fit into one type of socket, so I have to use an adapter.”Steve Wozniak

Apple has not provided information on whether it will include an adapter or alternative Lightning-cable headphones with the next iPhone, but rumors suggest that the upcoming device will not have a headphone jack.

If this happens, wireless headphones will have to be used, but apparently Steve Wozniak doesn't like that.

“If there’s a Bluetooth 2 with higher bandwidth and better quality, that sounds like real music, I’d like to use it. But we’ll see,” Woz said.

He also stated that USB-C will be "the future," but that's up to Apple.

Apple's 2015-2016 MacBooks had only one USB-C port and a headphone jack, while the next MacBook Pro is rumored to have four USB-C ports. The iPhone, however, has a special role for Apple as it is the device that generates the most profits for the company, which is considering releasing a smartphone with a Lightning port. We probably won't see this device this year. However, rumors that the upcoming iPhone will not have a headphone jack are very numerous and probably true.

"If the 3.5mm headphone jack is missing, a lot of people will be disappointed," said Steve Wozniak.
