Meta AI was released in September 2023 using the Llama 2.

Nearly a year later, the company announced new features for its AI assistant, as well as a new language model to support it: Llama 3.1.
These updates expand the audience that can access Meta AI. With the addition of Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, and Cameroon, the assistant is now available in 22 countries. It is also supported in new languages: French, German, Hindi, Hindi in Roman script, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. However, some of the new features are, for now, limited by location or language.

Meta is rolling out a beta tool called “Imagine Me” across the US. The tool allows users to create images with messages like “Imagine me surfing” or “Imagine me in a surreal painting,” and the AI assistant will create it using a photo of the person. Meta is also adding new ways to enhance an image, such as removing, changing, or editing its content.
This feature allows you to create an image, such as a duck, with the “Imagine me” tool. You can then tell Meta AI to “Change the duck to a cat.” Next month, an “Edit with AI” button will be added to further optimize images. The company is also offering the ability to create an image with Meta AI via streaming, comments, stories, or messages on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp , and Messenger. This feature is expected to launch this week, but only in English.
