The daughter of the ruler of Dubai appears to have announced her divorce via social media , specifically on Instagram.
A post from the Instagram account of the Princess of Dubai, Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, appears to have made the decision to end her marriage, stating: "With this post I confirm our divorce."
The BBC contacted the country's officials for clarification on the matter. There has been no public statement from Sheikh Manabin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum, Sheikha Mahra's husband, or from her father.

The post, which begins with "Dear husband," ends with the phrase "I divorce you, I divorce you, and I divorce you," seemingly using the Islamic practice known as triple talaq.
This practice has been banned in many countries, but traditionally allows husbands to divorce their wives quickly by saying "I divorce you" three times.
"Be careful. Your ex-wife," the Instagram post read.
All photos of Sheikha Mahra's husband appear to have been deleted from her account. In addition, Sheikh Mana's account is also devoid of photos of his wife.
The couple married in April 2023 in a glamorous ceremony and welcomed their first child two months ago.

Some comments from users speculate that Sheikha Mahra's account may have been hacked. However, there is no official confirmation of this and the post mentioning her divorce appears to be old.
The Dubai government and the UAE embassy in London did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
