
Nintendo continues to provide strong support for Splatoon 3, and today we see the arrival of Version 7.1.0. In this update, Inklings and Octolings can expect changes to Splatfests and the Salmon Run mode , as well as several bug fixes .

This includes some tweaks to player controls, the Side Order DLC, SplatNet 3, and a few other tweaks. In case you missed it, Nintendo has also started releasing a series of music clips on its official YouTube channel featuring Pearl and Marina.

Changes to Splatfests
- Added a song that will play during Splatfest Battles and Tricolor Battles.
- This song will play regardless of whether the player has downloaded the DLC.

Changes to Salmon Run
- For players not in the central multiplayer system, the time it takes for those players to collect Golden Eggs that are touched immediately after depositing or dropping another Golden Egg has been reduced.
This update focuses on adding a song for Splatfests.
The next update, which is scheduled for mid-2024 Fresh Season, will make changes to things like combat.
Bug Fixes
Player Controls Fixes
- Fixed an issue with the Order Brella Replica cover where the ink appearing on it in relation to damage dealt was less than the Splat Brella and Sorella Brella.
- Fixed an issue in Clam Blitz mode where, when you didn't have a clam, it was possible to move the rollers at shorter intervals than normal by alternating the roller and performing the clam-throw action.

Side Order Fixes
- Fixed an issue where sometimes when players completed the Side Order storyline and returned to the plaza, a communication error would occur that prevented them from following through to the end of the cinematic.
- Added a feature to replay this cinematic scene at the entrance to the Spire of Order.
- Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented the player from controlling the character after the cinematic looking up at the Spire of Order.
- Fixed an issue where, when playing Side Order continuously, the game's music would sometimes stop playing.
- Fixed an issue where, when the player pressed the + button to open the pause screen with a set timing after entering a floor, the floor music would sometimes not play when the player closed the pause screen.
- Fixed an issue where, like activating Broken-Armor Jump in mid-air, sometimes when remaining in mid-air in a high position, the player would be considered to have fallen out of the stadium even though they were in a position where they could return to the stadium.
- Fixed an issue where the jump height when jumping from the bounce pad was not uniform.
- Fixed an issue where, when restarting after an error on a floor where a Bonus Challenge was taking place, the icon in the upper left corner displaying the bonus conditions would sometimes appear overlaid with conditions different from the original ones.
- Fixed an issue where the color of the marker indicating what you are aiming at sometimes differs from the color of the player's ink due to the color chip of Homing Shots.
- Fixed an issue in Rotational.Floor where players would sometimes get pinned to the ground when stuck between a Whirling Accelerando and the ground.
- Fixed an issue where, when a Parallel Cannon was heard in an active inkrail, it would sometimes push the player away significantly.
- Fixed an issue where, when pressing the A button on the points calculation screen at the end of a run in Spire of Order, the points earned displayed were sometimes higher than the actual number of points earned.
SplatNet 3 fixes
- Fixed an issue where the “High Score!” displayed in Side Order Stats sometimes did not refresh properly.

Other Corrections
- Fixed an issue where X Rankings placement badges could sometimes not be obtained in the 2023 Chill Season.
- When your final ranking in the 2023 Chill Season meets the requirements, you will automatically earn a badge when you go online and go to the lobby after the updated data is applied.
- You can check your final ranking on SplatNet 3.
- Fixed an issue where pressing the left stick on the screen where you ask Murch or Spyke to add equipment capabilities would sometimes prevent you from performing other actions.
- Fixed an issue where the time limit could not be changed when using the Random Selection feature to select a Tableturf Battle stage in multiplayer.
