“At 1:30 a.m. last night, alarms were raised in Duvel’s IT department because ransomware was detected,” said Ellen Aarts, communications at Duvel Moortgat. “Therefore, production was immediately stopped. It is not yet known when it could resume. We hope to resume today or tomorrow.”
According to the spokeswoman, there will be no problems with the distribution of the beer, despite the fact that production has been stopped. Aarts said that Duvel warehouses are full, so everything will run smoothly. The stock is enough to compensate for the production stoppage.
