Two-finger scrolling is a common gesture and is used in many different applications. For example, you can use it to scroll through web pages, documents, or lists. If you're using a device and don't have a mouse available, you can still scroll through content with a simple two-finger gesture, without having to use a mouse. This is especially useful if you're using a laptop or tablet.
