Nvidia officially announced its new flagship GPU RTX 4090 as well as the 4080 , at its GeForce Beyond event, as part of the RTX 4000 series of graphics cards , the successor to the RTX 3000 series.

Using Nvidia's new Ada Lovelace , which uses third-generation DLSS, the new GeForce RTX 4090 includes 24GB memory G6X RTX 3090 Ti, previous top-of-the-line GPU . The RTX 4090 will cost $1,599 and will be available on October 12.

The new specs are impressive even by last-gen standards. There's a 56% increase in core count, as well as 76% more ray tracing and Tensor cores compared to the previous generation. As we mentioned above, the graphics card packs the same 24GB of GDDR6X memory, but Nvidia has increased the overall clock speed by 49%. All of these improvements come from the new manufacturing process and architecture.
Nvidia says the RTX 4090 is faster than the RTX 3090 Ti due to the new Ada Lovelace architecture and some key performance improvements.

In addition to the RTX 4090, the company also announced the new RTX 4080 which comes in two memory: 12 GB and 16 GB. Nvidia says the RTX 4080 is two to four times faster than the RTX 3080 Ti. The company didn't give a specific release date for the RTX 4080 GPU, but said it will be released sometime in November. The RTX 4080 with 12 GB of G6X memory will cost $899, while the 16 GB variant will cost $1,199.

During the presentation, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huangwent into extensive detail about the new RTX 40 graphics architecture. Huang noted that the Ada architecture features third-generation RTX, which offers new featuresincluding real-time path tracing as well as third-generation Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS). DLSS 3 is said to be capable of creating additional frames and boosting game by up to two times.
