Having trouble remembering all the birthdays of your friends, family, and colleagues? Luckily, Apple's iPhone is here to help with its automated birthday reminders. All you have to do is add birthdays to the Contacts app and make a change in Settings. Here's how you can set it up.

First, for this to work, you need to have notifications enabled for your iPhone's Calendar app. To enable, go to Settings > Notifications > Calendar and set the switch next to "Allow Notifications" to "On."

You'll also need to set some birthdays in the Contacts app. To do this, open Contacts, then tap a contact from the list, select Edit, and then tap add birthday.
Once all of the above is set up, you can turn on automatic birthday reminders. First, open your iPhone's Settings and tap "Calendar."

In the “Calendar” settings, tap “Default Alert Times”.

Under “Default Alert times”, select “Birthdays”.

On the “Birthdays” screen, you can choose when Calendar will notify of upcoming birthdays. You can choose “On day of event,” “1 day before,” “2 days before,” or “1 week before.” For the first three of these options, Calendar will notify you at 9 a.m. on the day you selected.

After that, exit Settings. When the time comes for the notification, Calendar will send you a birthday notification

Depending on your notification settings, you may see this notification on your lock screen or in Notification Center, as well as via pop-ups on screen .
