Οργάνωση χρησιμοποιώντας stacks

If your Mac desktop looks like the one above, the first thing you need to do is enable the Stacks feature , first introduced in macOS Mojave.

To do this, go to an empty space on your desktop, right-click, and select "Use Stacks".

Immediately, macOS will organize and group all similar files. You'll find different stacks for images, documents , and anything else you have.

The next thing you need to do is change the default save location for screenshots . If you use your Mac regularly, your desktop might be littered with screenshots. Changing the default save destination to a different folder is very simple and works wonders.

Customize the icons

Now that you have enabled Stacks and are managing the storage space for screenshots, it’s time to get into more interesting things, like customizing your Mac’s icons.

To get started, right-click again on an empty space on your desktop and select the "Show View Options" button.

This will display all the options for customizing desktop icons on the screen

With the "Stack By" option, you can group stacks by type, date , added date, modified date, created date, and based on tags.

If you click on the menu next to "Short By", you can sort all icons by name, type, date last opened, date added, date modified, date created, size, and by tags.

Sliding below the "Icon Size" option increases and decreases the icon size on your Mac's desktop.

Then, you can give them a little more space by increasing the “Grid Spacing”.

From the "Text Size" option you can increase the text size of the label. You can move between 10 and 16 points.

If you want to see information about files and folders, such as how many files are in a folder or the available space on a hard drive, we recommend enabling the “Show Item Info” option.

Finally, if you don't want to see file previews as icons, you can uncheck the "Show Icon Preview" option.

When you're done with your changes and rearrangements, go back to your Mac's desktop to see what you've created.
