Gmail is getting an upgrade to make your work life a lot easier, after Google revealed that it will bring a lot of new features.

In addition to the new features of G Suite, it will support faster and easier access to different tools.
Google hopes that the redesigned Gmail will also become a major hub for collaboration and discussion, thanks to a new feature called “ Rooms .” Rooms will essentially be themed chat rooms, similar to Slack ’s Channels . Gmail Rooms will be a place where colleagues can share tasks and calendar invites, while also being able to discuss their work in real time.
Google Meet , the dedicated video conferencing app , was added to the email platform in April of this year and will continue to be there. Of course, a new picture-in-picture mode option will be available , without having to leave the app.
Google Docs is also integrated into Rooms, and you'll be able to open a full document in a window right next to an ongoing conversation. This feature aims to simplify editing and facilitate real-time collaboration without having to leave Gmail every time.
You'll also be able to share files and assign tasks directly from the email platform, making it a one-stop productivity shop.
The integration of features isn't limited to Google's G Suite apps. Third-party apps like DocuSign, Salesforce , and Trello will also be available on the upgraded email platform.

The company will also roll out new security features for Chat and Meet so that users can better control who joins calls. Unwanted intruders can be blocked and if they try to reconnect to the call, they will be prevented.
Google also said it will release updates to protect against phishing.
The Gmail rebuild is currently being tested by select companies, but will soon roll out to all G Suite users. Whether these changes will be available to the rest of the users is unclear, but Google has confirmed that the security updates for Chat and Meet will be applied to everyone.
