Android 11: Ability to change the color of “Quick Settings” icons

Google released the first Android 11 Developer Preview yesterday . Many of the features of Android 11 are not yet known to the general public. One of them is the “ QSColorController ” in SystemUI. This feature allows the coloring of icons in the “Quick Settings” panel. In addition, through some commands, users will be able to change the colors of each icon if they want .

As you can see in the image above, the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do Not Disturb , Rotation , and Battery have different colors. It’s not like we’re used to them. The colors you can choose from are blue, yellow, red , and green. However, Google may add more colors in the future. The “QSColorController” attribute only changes the color of the icon. The functionality of the settings does not change.

Android 11

We don't know what Google plans to do with this new feature yet. Perhaps the company wants to expand the Pixel Themes app to Android 11. Or perhaps it wants to give developers the ability to set the color of their own settings icons. The feature won't be exclusive to Pixel. It's certainly not one of the most interesting or useful features, but some people might really like it. We'll know more when Google releases more previews for Android 11.

The colors used in the image above are not default colors from Google. The only limitation is the number of colors. Otherwise, you can use any color you want (out of four) for each of your Quick Settings icons.
