Official Intel drivers for the upcoming Windows 10 2004 released

Intel has announced updated graphics drivers that are compatible with Windows 10 2004. They bring better DirectX 12 support. Later this month, Microsoft will also announce the required update for obtaining Windows 10 2004.

After the update, the operating system will run on Windows Display Driver 2.7, which will allow users to utilize the new features of DirectX 12.

To prepare for the operating system update, Intel has released “Windows 10 DCH Drivers 27.20.100.8187,” which bring support for DirectX 12 Shader Model 6.5, as well as Dolby Vision. However, the new drivers are only compatible with computers using at least 7thgeneration processors or Intel HD Graphics 610 and above.

Until now, when users wanted to update their system drivers, they had to first open the hardware manufacturer’s website, and then download the updates based on the system they were using. Now, however, the company’s upcoming drivers are “Unlocked.” In other words, from now on, users will get the new graphics drivers, along with the company’s DCH drivers.

"We know how important it is for users to be able to update simply, easily and quickly. For this reason, DCH drivers are now 'Unlocked', which allows users to update their systems more often and faster. Now, all users have to do to update their drivers is install the new exe file and not think about the rest," the company says.

Below we provide detailed steps for installing generic DCH drivers on your system:

  1. Make sure you are using a 7thgeneration or higher processor
  2. Disable the internetso that the computer cannot install other drivers automatically.
  3. Go to Device Manager > Display Adapters > (right click on Intel Graphics) > Uninstall Device. Here you should select “delete the driver software for this device”.
  4. Select “Scan for Hardware Changes”.
  5. If there are other Intel drivers, repeat steps 3 and 4 until Basic Display Adapter is no longer displayed.
  6. Restart the system.
  7. Install the new drivers.
  8. Restart the system again, and then connect the computer to the internet.
  9. Make sure the drivers are installed using Device Manager.
  10. Run Windows update to make sure you are using the latest drivers.

By using this method, users will be able to receive updates much more frequently, as well as be sure that they are using the latest drivers.
