Qualcomm ’s Snapdragon Tech Summit , which this year is scheduled for December 3, is an annual event organized by the company to showcase its new products. At its annual meeting last year, Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon 855 for mobile devices. It also unveiled the Snapdragon X50 modem along with the QTM052 mmWave antenna module, which is found in most 5G-enabled smartphones today. The company also introduced the Qualcomm Spectra 380 – the world’s first ISP processor with built-in artificial intelligence.
Furthermore, Qualcomm also introduced the Snapdragon 8cx platform for computers, for the new generation of Always on, Always Connected computers. The new chip features 4 × 4 Kryo 495 CPU cores with a larger system and L3 cache that enables faster multitasking. Regarding graphics, the chip includes the new Adreno 680 GPU, promising double performance and 60% energy savings compared to the Snapdragon 850. It is the most powerful platform that has been created by Qualcomm so far.
The company recently announced the dates for its Snapdragon Tech Summit 2019, and it’s certain that some great new products will be unveiled. The event is scheduled for December 3rd in Maui, Hawaii. One of the most anticipated products that the company is expected to announce is the new Snapdragon 8xx chip (most likely the Snapdragon 865) for mobile platforms.
Additionally, it's likely that Qualcomm will showcase its ISP advancements, as well as an upgraded 5G modem. And since Snapdragon 8cx-powered laptops are just starting to hit the market, the company may also announce some improvements to the desktop platform at this year's event.
For now, all we can do is wait for the start of Qualcomm's annual event to see what new the company.
