According to numerous user reports, the Windows 10 cumulative update KB4090913, which was released by Microsoft on March 5 to address some device connectivity issues, introduces a new set of bugs.
This specific update only applies to computer systems that have Windows 10 Version 1709 (Fall Creators Update) installed.
As we informed you in our post yesterday, Microsoft has released a new update for Windows 10, aiming to fix some USB device connectivity issues, as well as address some malfunctions that appeared in built-in devices, such as built-in cameras, keyboards, and mice of laptop computers – issues that arose after installing the February Windows Updates.
However, according to user reports, the KB4090913 update failed to successfully resolve these issues, while also introducing some additional bugs, causing even more malfunctions.
At this point, we should point out the existence of a significant number of reports of failed attempts to install the new Windows update, KB4090913 – with several users reporting the appearance of the following error message (0x80070643): “We could not complete the update, reverting changes.”
The message informs users that the new update could not be installed, and then, users are automatically prompted to reinstall, which leads to a vicious cycle of failed update attempts.
And while some users indicate that there is a compatibility issue of the new Update with AMD processors, Microsoft has not yet confirmed the existence of any known problem with the hardware in question.
In addition to failed installations, users also report that KB4090913 causes other errors, and in several cases it does not even resolve the connectivity problem with USB devices.
Microsoft is expected to release new massive updates next week, addressing any issues that have arisen, so affected Windows users are advised to be patient for a little while longer.
