Copyright laws are changing and Mozilla doesn't like it at all

Copyright laws are about to change in the European Union and Mozilla is opposing the amendment as it will significantly affect the freedom of Internet users.Mozilla

It should be noted that the European Union has copyright laws, but they are not in line with modern times. Also, legislation is a concern of all states, but not all have the same authority.

On the other hand, the regulation of copyright laws will always be a difficult chapter as we are talking about a controversial topic.

The Mozilla organization is based in the US and although its stance seemed strange to many, it is not the first time it has taken a position on laws that restrict users' online access.

A new proposal will be voted on in the European Parliament's Legal Affairs Committee on October 10. It is a major project aimed at regulating copyright laws across the European Union, but Mozilla believes that this regulation is going to limit individual rights, and subsequently users' freedom on the internet.

Mozilla's stance on the new copyright laws is quite clear and was expressed by the EU's senior policy director. "Many aspects of the proposal and some amendments submitted to Parliament are dysfunctional and borderline absurd," said Raegan MacDonald.

The biggest problem according to Mozilla is that in order for people to publish something online, they have to pass it through certain filters that determine the copyright holder, resulting in people's personal photos being exposed.
