Samsung Galaxy Note FE the refurbished Note 7

Galaxy Note FE: Samsung Electronics will begin selling refurbished Galaxy Note 7s in South Korea starting this Friday.

The refurbished devices will be called the Galaxy Note Fan Edition, or Galaxy Note FE, and the company estimates it will sell around 400,000 devices in the country.

The phone uses the unsold and unused components of the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung said, and is an “eco-friendly” project.Galaxy Note FEGalaxy Note FE

The Note FE features the same design as the Note 7, but will have the UX of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, which were introduced earlier this year.

It also has a 3,200mAh battery, smaller than the original 3,500mAh of the Note 7.It has passed Samsung's eight-point safety test that it will perform on all its products after the Note 7 fiasco, the company stressed.

It has the same specifications as the original. It has a 5.7-inch dual-sided QHD display with an octa-core processor and a 12-megapixel rear camera. Its front camera is 5-megapixel. It runs Android 7.0 and has 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and supports external memory up to 256GB. It has IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.

It also has two Bixby features – Samsung's virtual assistant that was released this year – Bixby Home and Bixby Reminder.

In Korea, it will be released in black, blue coral, platinum, and titanium.

The company will decide later whether to sell the refurbished phone globally. The thing is, though, that many have lost trust in the Korean company, and it seems like it will take a long time to restore its reputation in the markets.

In any case, the company hopes that there will always be those who trust it, and it is betting on them.
