Virgin Mobile is abandoning Android devices completely

Virgin Mobile just announced Inner Circle, a mobile phone package that comes with unlimited data, text messages, and calls for customers who purchase an iPhone. Virgin Mobile

The company is ditching Android smartphones entirely, making it the first U.S. carrier to exclusively offer Apple iPhones by allowing customers to sign up with an iPhone purchased from Virgin or Apple. Virgin Mobile sells the latest iPhone models, including the SE, 6, 6s, 6s Plus, 7, and 7 Plus.

Inner Circle is a contract-free plan available for $50 per month with unlimited data, texting, and calling. However, as part of a special offer through July 31, this plan is available for just $1 for the first year.

Virgin Mobile also announced a new phone insurance package that will be available for just $7 a month. The company covers damage, loss, and theft for any iPhone with an Inner Circle subscription.

Although it comes with unlimited data, messages, and calls, the new plan still comes with some limitations. One of them is the data speed, which is reduced if traffic exceeds 23 MB per month. In addition, music streaming is limited to 500 kilobits per second, while video streaming is only available in 480p resolution.

Additionally, unlimited voice and data services are only offered on the network.

For an additional $5 per month, customers will have unlimited calling to Mexico and Canada as well as unlimited texting worldwide.

The unlimited service deals are available for Virgin Mobile customers who purchase a new iPhone by June 27th.
