The Bank of Greece website was attacked by the Anonymous group on Easter Tuesday . The "attack" lasted for a few minutes as the Bank of Greece staff were on alert and dealt with it immediately
According to reports the servers of the Bank of Greece were out of service for at least 6 hours.
It is noted that the Bank of Greece is one of the first banks that appears to have been targeted in recent hours, with a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack.
The company «OpIcarus» started in January 2016 and continued in March. The hacker-activists behind this act believe that banks and large financial institutions are involved in corruption cases and record their protest by taking this «war» to the next level, as they say.
«Mount Olympus will fall. How convenient that Icarus found his way back to Greece», Anonymous said in their video not long ago.
