Final Cut Pro X is Apple 's professional offering in the field of video editing and production. This powerful program offers many features, but there is one aspect of it that has been somewhat ignored by the company, causing frustration for many users.

According to several commenters on Apple's support forums and other websites, there are some scenarios where scroll bars occasionally disappear in the Event Browser and Timeline. This issue primarily affects FCP X versions 10.1.x, MacBook Pro (Retina, Late 2013) and Mac Pro (Late 2013).

Many users are reporting that the issue occurs when connecting a new mouse or trackpad to their Mac. Apple does not appear to have released a patch for this bug yet, but the issue may be fixed in a future update to Final Cut Pro X.

The solution, however, is simple! To resolve the issue, simply change the “Show scroll bars” setting to “Always” from your Mac’s “General prefs.” Here are the detailed steps.
