The AI assistant will now connect to Microsoft SharePoint and OneDrive to search and analyze documents without the need for manual uploads. The Microsoft 365 connector is available now for all Claude Team and Enterprise plan users , but administrators must enable the integration before end users can connect their accounts.
Integration with Microsoft Outlook allows the chatbot to access email threads and analyze communications to display relevant content in its responses. The AI assistant will also be able to search for conversations in Microsoft Teams, as well as access channel discussions and meeting summaries.

Anthropic is also launching enterprise search in Claude, a new feature that makes it easier for the AI assistant to search across a company’s data sources. As many businesses use a variety of tools to manage HR, communications and other parts of a business, data often resides in many different applications and services. “Enterprise search is particularly valuable for onboarding new team members, answering strategic questions like analyzing patterns in customer feedback and quickly identifying the right internal experts for advice on any given topic,” says Anthropic.
Anthropic Claude integration with Microsoft 365 via MCP
The integration with Microsoft 365 works through a Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector, Anthropic’s open-source standard for connecting AI applications to other data sources and applications. Microsoft has embraced MCP, promising to use it widely in Windows as it redesigns its operating system to turn computers into AI PCs you can talk to.

Microsoft is increasingly relying on Anthropic’s AI models to improve Microsoft 365 apps. Anthropic’s models now help power Copilot Researcher, GitHub Copilot, Copilot Studio , and a new Office Agent that can create Word and PowerPoint documents from within its own Copilot chat environment. Microsoft is strengthening its partnership with Anthropic as it invests more in its own AI models.
