Masimo company warns of cyberattack

Medical device company Masimo Corporation warns that a cyberattack is affecting its manufacturing operations and causing delays in fulfilling customer orders.

Masimo Corporation is a California-based medical technology and consumer electronics company. It is primarily known for its non-invasive patient monitoring products, such as oximeters, cerebral function monitoring systems, hemodynamic systems, capnography and gas monitoring solutions, and remote patient monitoring platforms.

The company has reported annual revenue of $2.1 billion (2024) and employs approximately 3,600 people worldwide, and is listed on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol MASI. Masimo disclosed the cyberattack in a Form 8-K filing filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) last night, stating that the incident occurred on April 27, 2025.

Although the company did not disclose details about the type of attack, it said that cybercriminals breached its local network, which led the company to isolate the affected systems.

The disclosed cybersecurity incident has significantly impacted the company's production and operational activities. Masimo believes the breach was limited to its internal systems and did not impact its cloud-.

The company clarified that the investigation into the nature, extent and actual impact of the incident is still ongoing, so it is unclear whether customer data or whether there will be a financial impact for the current quarter.

Masimo says it is working with external cybersecurity experts and has notified law enforcement. So far, no ransomware group has claimed responsibility for the cyberattack on Masimo.
