American business services giant and government contractor Conduentrecently announced that customer data was stolen in a cyberattack that occurred in January 2025.

Conduent is a business services company that delivers digital platforms and solutions to government and commercial clients in transportation, healthcare, customer experience and human resources. The company employs over 33,000 people and serves half of the Fortune 100 companies and more than 600 government and transportation organizations.
In January, Conduent suffered a cyberattack that impacted the operations of its customers across the U.S., including local government agencies. In a new FORM-8K filing with the SEC yesterday, Conduent confirmed that the attackers had stolen files containing information about the company’s customers.

Conduent says there is no indication that the stolen data has been published on the dark web or in any other public way. Nor have any ransomware groups or actors been identified or reported leaking or offering the data for sale.
Conduent says the cyberattack had no material impact on its operations, but it has incurred expenses in the first quarter related to the attack. The company was previously breached in 2020 , when the Maze ransomware group encrypted the company's devices and stole corporate data .
