Muse for Small Business: Muse comes to small businesses

Meta is expanding its presence in the artificial intelligence and is now turning its attention to small businesses, attempting to transform Muse from an AI assistant for everyday use into a tool that can take on real business tasks.

Muse for Small Business

The company introduced Muse for Small Business, a new service that connects the AI agent to popular productivity apps and platforms. The goal is to allow entrepreneurs to delegate tasks to Muse that previously required manual management in different software.

Connecting to the tools businesses already use

The new system is designed to work with services like Asana, Zoom, Intuit, Box, and Canva, and also includes integration with Salesforce’s Slack. Muse can also be connected to Meta advertising accounts, as well as professional profiles on Facebook and Instagram.

This particular approach is particularly important for small businesses, as many of them already use the above services for communication, marketing, customer management and content creation.

Instead of the user constantly moving from app to app, the AI agent attempts to act as a single point of management. In theory, a business owner could assign it a goal and Muse would take the steps to complete it.

From answering questions to performing tasks

The most significant change is the shift from traditional chatbots to AI agents. A chatbot typically answers questions or generates content when asked. An agent, on the other hand, is designed to use tools, perform actions, and follow a series of steps to achieve a goal.

Meta describes Muse as a system in which the user can give a specific goal, such as managing a business or attracting new customers, while letting the agent take over part of the process.

For a small company, such a function could mean automating marketing tasks, organizing meetings, creating social media content , or managing repetitive processes. The real benefit, however, will depend on how reliably and with how little human intervention it can perform these actions.

No clear pricing yet

Meta did not announce a specific pricing model for Muse for Small Business. The company referred to the existing Muse app, which is offered for free with limitations and has a subscription option for greater use.

Cost will be a major factor in small business adoption . For a professional, the value of an AI agent will not only be determined by its capabilities, but also by whether it can replace or reduce the cost of specific tools and human time.

Meta invests in a new AI business ecosystem

The launch of Muse for Small Business comes shortly after the announcement of a broader enterprise platform from Meta, led by CJ Desai, a former MongoDB executive.

The new platform is expected to combine a Muse agent, a business AI agent , and a scheduling tool. This direction shows that Meta no longer sees artificial intelligence exclusively as a feature of its social networks, but as a potential standalone business activity.

The battle with OpenAI and Anthropic

Meta is entering a highly competitive space, where companies like OpenAI and Anthropic. The timing is even more interesting, as the announcement came at the same time as OpenAI's Developer Day.

Meta does have one major advantage, however: a huge base of businesses already using its platforms. According to the company itself, about 200 million small businesses are active on Facebook.

Zuckerberg's big bet

Mark Zuckerberg has invested heavily in artificial intelligence, seeking new sources of growth beyond the traditional digital advertising model. As part of this strategy, Meta has made major investments in AI talent and technology, with Alexandr Wang, co-founder of Scale AI, playing a central role.

His team has already introduced new models of the Muse Spark, while Zuckerberg recently described Muse as a "central pillar" of Meta's AI strategy.

Interest in the service has been growing since its launch on September 8, when it topped the US App Store, surpassing ChatGPT. An Evercore analyst estimated that Muse could reach 100 million users within six to 12 months.

For Meta, however, the real challenge isn't just acquiring users. It's proving that Muse can be transformed into a useful business tool, capable of saving time, automating processes, and ultimately creating a new and sustainable revenue model around artificial intelligence.
