Instagram gets a new status feature called “Notes”. A new update to Notes adds the ability to set your status to a song.

Mia Sato referred to Instagram's new Notes feature:
Now, users will be able to attach a 30-second snippet of a song to their status update, along with a short caption next to the track. Friends can then tap the song to listen to the snippet. Instagram also adds a translation button below posts in other languages.
If it hasn't already, Instagram should start calling this feature “Music Notes”. Mia adds that Instagram sees the usage of the Notes feature among teens to be ten times greater than that of other users.
Meta is also working on a Twitter- like microblogging service that resembles Instagram's comments section. According to The Verge, the service, which may be called Threads, will support the new ActivityPub standard to enable interoperability with Mastodon and other federated social networks .
