The long-running Xbox Game Pass introductory offer, which allowed users to try the service for $1 for the first month before being upgraded to more expensive pricing, has come to an end.

As the Verge, the offer—which was available for both Xbox and PC—has now been removed, with a Microsoft spokesperson saying, "We have discontinued previous introductory offers for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass and are considering different promotions for new members in the future."
These new promotions are unknown, although the whole point of this offer was to get new users on board, so the next natural successor could very well be the Game Pass Friends and Family theme, which, although still unavailable in the US, has already been tested in various international markets since the end of 2022.
Those who are subscribed to Game Pass will see existing months of subscription converted to individual months in the shared plan. If you are already subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, each remaining month will be converted to 18 days of the Friends and Family subscription service. Those who have signed up for the tiered tiers will see their subscriptions converted to 12 days of Game Pass Friends and Family.
Suggestion: One of the best RPGs is coming to Xbox Game Pass
There are limitations, though. If you're the account owner, you can have up to four additional people on the account at any given time, and you can only share with eight unique accounts in a one-year period. Additionally, it's region-locked, meaning the owner can only add accounts from the same region or country.
While this isn't a surefire successor to the $1 offer, which was a good deal for everyone, it will make things easier for those who refer family and friends to Game Pass through their own account.
