Capcom has promised to soon release an update for a recent issue that players on PlayStation 5 consoles are experiencing while playing Resident Evil 4. By all accounts, Capcom has been receiving a lot of love for its latest game from both critics and fans. Regardless of whether it's an early favorite for 2023 Game Of the Year, those playing the game on PS5 consoles are complaining about an issue involving flickering lights. Luckily, Capcom is already aware of the bug and is already working on a fix.

In a recent post on the official Resident Evil Twitter, Capcom made it clear that it is aware that the PS5 version of Resident Evil 4 is experiencing this flickering issue. While promising to fully fix the bug with an upcoming update, Capcom also informed fans of a current workaround that will eliminate the “flickering.” In short, players were asked to set “Depth of Field” to off in the game’s settings menu, while also turning “Motion Blur” to On. After saving and restarting Resident Evil 4, once these changes are made, Capcom believes that the issue will be alleviated for now.

Suggestion: Resident Evil 4 remake completed
“We are aware of an issue where players may experience flickering lights at the bottom of the screen when playing the PS5 version of Resident Evil 4,” Capcom said in a statement on social media, providing workarounds. “We plan to resolve the issue in a future update and apologize for any inconvenience!”
While it's frustrating to see RE4 launch with issues on PS5, it's good that Capcom has caught on to it quickly. Hopefully, a new patch will be released for PS5 in the coming days that will permanently fix this issue.
