SUV crashes into Apple store in Massachusetts

Yesterday morning, an SUV drove through the window of an Apple store in Massachusetts. A firefighter says this may have been intentional. While we don't yet have all the details, it's clear that multiple people were seriously injured in the incident, while one person sadly died.

Apple closed the Derby Street for a week and issued a statement expressing its condolences for the horrific incident:

“In light of the recent tragedy that occurred at Apple Derby Street, we will remain closed until further notice. Our thoughts are with those affected by this event.“

ABC WCVB 5 reported that a vehicle drove through the glass facade of the Apple Store Derby Street in Hingham, Monday morning at 10:50 a.m.

Of the 16 people injured in the accident, one has sadly passed away. The rest are being treated at a local hospital. At this time, there are many people with life-threatening injuries who are undergoing or will soon undergo surgery.

An eyewitness who was at the store when the SUV crashed stated that it appeared to be driving very fast.

A witness described the sound as "a big explosion."

A crane also arrived at the store to remove the SUV.

In particular, a firefighter who was at the scene stated that "the video shows that this was done intentionally," WCVB 5 reported.

The driver who hit the Apple Store was also injured but was conscious and able to speak.
