Discord is the go-to communication platform for connecting with friends while gaming. However, its functionality on PlayStation can be confusing for some. With that in mind, here we’ll show you how to connect your PlayStation Network account, also known as a PSN account, to Discord for seamless gaming comms.
Connecting your PSN account to Discord was nearly impossible in the past, but now that's no longer the case thanks to a partnership between Sony and Discord, which allows you to easily link your PSN to your Discord account.
Additionally, users can link their PSN accounts to their Discord accounts either through the iOS or Android or the desktop app. Here's how:
How to connect a PlayStation Network Account to Discord on mobile
The process is the same for iOS and Android users.
1. First, download and open the Discord app on your mobile device and make sure you are logged in.
2. Inside the app, on the bottom line, tap your profile icon. It will be the one on the far right.
3. In settings, click Connections.
4. Once you enter the connections menu, click “Add” and select PlayStation Network from the list.
5. Now, the app will open the PSN network website, where you can log in using your PSN credentials and link your PSN account to Discord account.
6. Once logged in, close the website and you will return to the app, where you will see that your PlayStation Network account is connected to Discord.
Meanwhile, if you need to disconnect your PSN account from Discord, you can go to connections and disconnect your PSN account from there.
How to connect PlayStation Network Account to Discord on PC
1. Open the Discord app on your computer and make sure you are logged in.
2.Go to the app settings by clicking on the gear icon in the bottom left.
3.In settings, click Connections.
4.Once you enter the connections menu, click on the PS icon to connect your PlayStation Network account to Discord.
5.You will be redirected to the PSN account login page. Log in to your PSN account using your credentials and enter a password if you have enabled authentication on your PSN account.
6. Immediately afterwards, your PSN account will be linked to your Discord account.
That's it! You can enjoy your gaming sessions knowing you're connected to your friends. The integration won't allow you to use the full functionality, but we hope Sony will eventually release a dedicated Discord app for PlayStation at some point.
