The default navigation icon for Google Maps is the familiar triangle with an inverted base that you see on many systems . This icon actually comes from the game Asteroids. You can change this icon to better match your mode of transportation and suit you.
First, open the Google Maps app on your iPhone , iPad , or Android device , then select a location to navigate to. Tap “Directions.”
Then, select the “Start” button to begin turn-by-turn navigation.
Now, simply tap the icon that represents location on the map.
You'll now see a few vehicle on Google Maps to choose from, as well as the traditional triangle. Select one of the icons to continue.
That's it! You will now see the vehicle in the place of the triangle icon during navigation .
