With the COVID-19 pandemic hitting countries around the world, governments have taken a number of measures in an effort to combat the outbreak. One of these measures has been the suspension of schools. So, students at an elementary school in Japan collaborated and created their own graduation ceremony in Minecraft through SoraNews24 . It is their own initiative entirely, without the participation of their teachers or parents in all this. Japan, which is known for Nintendo Switch consoles and Pikachu parades , among other things , is now coming up with a cute new initiative that is reflected in one of the most popular video games.
A Twitter named @backyennew shared a post with a conversation he had with his son, who attended this elementary school in Japan. Specifically, in the post, he asks his son what he is doing, uploading a photo of the virtual graduation ceremony that his son invented with his friends. His son replied that he and his friends decided to participate in their own graduation ceremony together through Minecraft. The elementary school students gathered to create their own graduation. @backyennew also uploaded an adorable video of his son looking excited with the result of their idea.
Like many students around the world, elementary school students in Japan will not have the opportunity to participate in graduation ceremonies due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The school year in Japan ends in March, but this year almost all schools closed three weeks early in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19. At the same time, schools in 46 U.S. states have also suspended operations, leaving parents looking to online solutions for their children’s education and entertainment.
