The new version of Apple 's mobile operating system , iOS 13.2 , has just been released for compatible devices , from iPhone 6 and up.
The new iOS offers a set of new features to iPhone users, but its most impressive feature is Deep Fusion, which is available for iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro owners and will improve night shots.
What is Deep Fusion technology?
Deep Fusion is Apple's approach to taking good photos in low light. The company announced the feature in September when it announced the iPhone 11.
As explained by Phil Schiller, Apple's marketing VP, Deep Fusion uses machine learning and captures eight shots before the iPhone user presses the shutter button.
So in the end, the iPhone ends up with 9 shots of the same photo in different lighting. After that, Deep Fusion processes each photo “pixel-by-pixel” to create an image with the best resolution.
According to Apple, Deep Fusion will improve all photos taken on an iPhone.
It will be interesting to see how the feature works in relation to Google 's Night Sight feature .
Other new features of iOS 13.2
There's another update to the app . You can change video resolution settings directly from the camera app.
Currently, the feature is only available to iPhone 11 users. Therefore, other iPhone users will have to go to system settings to change video settings.
The iOS 13.2 update brings 70 new emojis and support for the new AirPods Pro. Another important addition is new Siri that let you control whether Apple can use your interactions with Siri to improve its digital assistant.
This comes after Apple promised to introduce opt-out settings following criticism it received when it was revealed that it was hiring third parties to listen to iPhone users' conversations with Siri.
