The Nokia 8 now includes the night sight feature via the Google Camera app. The Google Camera App that arrived with new Pixel devices was loved for its software features. Specifically, the app brings EIS, Night Sight and many other features, which have excellent results in terms of photo quality and resolution. The app has been ported to many smartphones, such as the OnePlus 6T, OnePlus 6, Xiaomi Mi 8 and Poco F1. Now, it is also available on the Nokia 8 smartphone!
NokiaPowerUser has a list of smartphones that can download the Google Camera APK and recently the Nokia 8 has been added to the list. The ported version of the Google Camera App can be downloaded by Nokia 8 users with either Android Pie or Android Oreo software. The app is 110MB in size and can be downloaded directly to the phone. The other smartphones that can download the Google Camera App are Nokia 8.1, Nokia 7.1, Nokia 6.1, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6.1 Plus, Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6.
As already mentioned, the app brings the Night Sight feature to the Nokia 8. Google notably announced the new feature alongside the unveiling of the Pixel 3 models in October but it was officially added to all users last month.
Comparing the camera performance on the Pixel 3 XL, iPhone XS, and Galaxy Note 9, we found that Night Sight improves shooting by allowing for greater brightness in low-light conditions. It essentially captures up to 15 frames with a slow shutter speed to provide an effective exposure of almost 5 seconds. This is done by keeping the camera shutter open for four to five seconds, which could, however, blur the image.
Apart from Nokia 8, Google Camera App is available for download for OnePlus 6, OnePlus 6T, Xiaomi Mi 8 and Poco F1. Apart from its advantages, experts advise users to be extra careful, as it has been observed that ported apps can damage phones.
