YIFY, Addic7ed, opensubtitles.org, and Subscene: Roadshow continues its legal battles against pirate websites, filing a lawsuit in the Australian federal court against the four sites that provide access to subtitle files.
The complaint alleges that they are violating copyright.
According to Roadshow's consultant, the four websites are Addic7ed, opensubtitles.org, Subscene and YIFY subtitles, which do "nothing other than offer subtitles that infringe copyright."
The complaint claims that the websites are “no different” from other pirate websites, despite the fact that they do not feature audio or visual content.
Another successful Roadshow case through the Federal Court of Australia in April resulted in Australian internet service providers being forced to block 16 online “piracy” websites due to their use by smart TV boxes.
