A former Microsoft employee has been arrested for stealing $10 million which he used to buy a Tesla car and a lakefront home.

The 25-year-old Ukrainian national, Volodymyr Kvashuk, allegedly used the money to buy a $160,000 Tesla car and a $1.7 million lakefront home. Over the course of his seven-month scheme, $2.8 million was found transferred into his bank accounts.
Specifically, Kvashuk is accused of stealing cryptocurrency gift cards redeemable for Microsoft products which he resold online for his own benefit.
The young employee was responsible for overseeing the online retail sales platform of Microsoft.

It is worth noting that in April, several cryptocurrency holders claimed that Microsoft-based email services – such as Outlook, Hotmail , and MSN – had been compromised by hackers targeting their cryptocurrencies.
In fact, one of the victims claimed that the breach of his email account had allowed the attackers to restore his account on the Kraken crypto exchange. Microsoft confirmed that the breach occurred in the first months of this year.
