US mobile carrier Sprint said it had been hacked , with criminals gaining access to customer accounts through the Samsung.com “add a line” website . It is not yet known how many accounts were compromised.
The company sent a message to customersaffected by the attack, which said the following: "On June 22, Sprint was notified of unauthorized access to your Sprint account using credentials via the Samsung.com "add a line" website."
According to the company, the personal informationthat has been leaked is: phone number, device type, device ID, monthly charges, account number, account creation date, first and last name, address and additional services.

Sprint itself has said that the information stolen by the hackersis not enough for theft or other fraud, although many would disagree with that view.
The company restored the compromised accounts by resetting the passwordsthree days later, on June 25.
As we mentioned earlier, there's not much information available about the breach. The notice, issued by the company, doesn't include many important details, such as the number of compromised accounts and the exact date the hackers gained access to the accounts via the Samsung.com "add a line" website. It also didn't provide information about whether the hackers modified customers' account information.
This isn't the first time Sprint has been the victim of a hacking attack this year. The company suffered another breach through Sprint subsidiary Boost Mobile. In May, Sprint announced that a group of hackers also managed to gain access to users' Sprint accounts.
