Is your CEO leaving your company vulnerable to hackers?

According to a survey by security firm RedSeal, CEOs and senior executives are putting companies their at risk (cyberattacks, hackers), mainly due to a lack of knowledge about cybersecurity .CEO

The study, which surveyed hundreds of IT and security professionals , found that a company's security team and CEOs are not collaborating enough, putting organizations at risk

Security teams develop and implement specific plans to protect the CEO and the company from attacks and breaches . However, 54% of security personnel believe that CEOs are not even aware of these plans. This in turn means that they could be a risk to the company themselves, since they do not know how to protect themselves.

Some experts also reported that senior executives' decisions and actions had compromised cybersecurity, while 14% said executives had not received any training in basic security behaviors.

Additionally, 95% of respondents said that personal device security is generally not given much attention and that smartphones are at risk of hacking attacks. 38% of security professionals do not know which devices senior executives use when they are away from the office.

This is dangerous, as it could provide a new avenue for hackerswho want to spy, steal information, or even blackmail their victims.

According to RedSeal CTO Mike Lloyd, for smart devicessecurity is not a priority. Many popular smart devices are privacy , which is scary, as they give criminals the opportunity to spy on CEOs and gain access to trade secrets.

“CEOs have broad access to the network , and they have the authority to control most areas, and this makes them ideal targets,” he added.

However, despite the lack of knowledge of many CEOs, businesses seem to be taking cybersecurity seriously and are developing quite effective security plans.

Also, three-quarters of companies report having “cyber insurance,” which means they are prepared for the aftermath of an attack or data breach.
