Finally, a very useful feature that we've all been waiting for is coming soon to Google Chrome!

Google announced in 2017 that it was adding an ad-filtering feature to Chrome for mobile and desktop, with the aim of ensuring that users are not bombarded with spammy ads while surfing the web. The main goal was to take appropriate measures to improve online ads, after Google joined the Coalition for Better Ads. However, the changes that were made were limited to the US, Canada and Europe. For this reason, the company decided to spread the ad-filtering tool worldwide and recently revealed that from July 9th, all annoying ads will be blocked in the web browser.
What can we expect from the new tool?
Essentially, it is a mechanism that will block ads and follow a series of guidelines, the so-called "Better Ads Standards" to determine whether the ad is annoying and whether it should be blocked from appearing on the web. In fact, to improve the detection of these ads, Google published on its official site some guidelines for twelve types of annoying advertising strategies, which advertisers must avoid, otherwise their ads will be blocked. In particular, the ads that will definitely be considered annoying for both mobile and laptops and desktops are pop-ups, full-screen ads and auto-play videos with sound.
It should be noted that Google always focuses on the user experience and puts their satisfaction as a top priority. For this reason, since 2017 it has been trying to create new tools to block annoying content. On the other hand, as for website owners and publishers, they must confirm that their ads do not violate the given guidelines. In addition, they are obliged to use the “Ad Experience Report” tool. In case a site refuses to implement the rules, Google will block the entire site in order to ensure a good user experience!
