If you often deal with business cards, you'll be interested in the latest update to Adobe Scan, a document scanning app. A recent update, which was rolled out a few days ago, allows you to scan business cards using your phone's camera and automatically save them as a new contact on your device. Adobe says this new feature is made possible by Sensei, AI technology .
Powered by the Sensei platform, Adobe Scan can recognize a business card when it is held in front of the phone’s camera. Using the “save contact” button, the app scans the card for any possible information it can find, such as first and last name, company name, email address, phone number, and any image on the card, such as the company logo.
Additionally, the use of artificial intelligence means that the app is able to process the photo it has taken before analyzing the information contained within it. This way, shadows and distortions can be removed, as well as fingers that appear to be holding the card.
The Adobe Scan update was announced alongside new document creation tools for use in Microsoft Office 365. These new tools allow users to convert documents to PDF, and vice versa, within the same application they are using.
If you have a lot of business cards and the application sounds interesting to you, you can download it completely free of charge through the Google Play Store or Apple's App Store , respectively
